Get it? It's called Hungry Hungry Games. So cute and so funny and it will be mine when I return from St. Lucia. I saw the movie this past weekend and I think they did a great job sticking to the book. That's all I have to say about that.

Look What I Ordered!
I have to share the awesomeness of my recent apparel purchase. A friend at work introduced me to shirt woot and they sell the funniest T-shirts. Several months ago there was a zombie cupcake shirt that I should have bought but didn't. I will not let opportunity pass me by again with this shirt.

Must Make Time
Things have been so hectic around the house this past week and I'm sure next week will be even more hectic. I'm getting about 5 hours of sleep each night and then I'm usually wide awake between two and 3am going through lists in my head. Weddings are unbelievably stressful, no matter how small and intimate you try to make them, and I'm kind of thinking we should have eloped. At this stage that's just crazy talk. Last minute things are getting done and time lines are being made for the stuff that has to wait until 24 hours before the ceremony but...I have got to make time to see The Hunger Games.
I'll try to persuade Jeff to go with me but he's working on stuff for the wedding too. We did a display at work (of course) and no less than 3 students ask me if we have the book everyday (we don't, we can't keep them on the shelf for more than 20 minutes). I love seeing the shift in interest in the young adult series' books. When I started working here it was Harry Potter and Twilight, then Percy Jackson snuck in there and now it's all about The Hunger Games.
I doubt I'll go see it tomorrow but a mid-day show over the weekend could work. After we get back from the honeymoon I may purchase a long bow. I'm thinking more along the lines of Jane Austen, Regency Era accomplished ladies' skills rather than Katniss and her huntin' skills. I also kind of want this t-shirt from cafepress.

Deck: Done
After many, many, many hours of work the deck is done. And. It. Is. Glorious. I think we started working on the deck in January and the last of the major work was completed this past Saturday. Here's a before picture (this was taken during my painting pots project).
Those dark poles were thick metal and they severely obstructed the lake view. Here's the after picture.
Huzzah! I'm so proud of Jeff. His mom and step-dad, my folks and my brother also helped but it was mostly Jeff and Virginia's doing. We did most of the work on the weekends and many of those weekends had poor weather so the project took longer than expected but it's done and it's such a major improvement. The deck isn't the only thing that was completed this weekend. My lovely wedding dress is all done. I love it! It's beautiful and comfortable and perfect for our backyard-garden-party-wedding/reception. Virginia did such a wonderful job and she was so patient with me. I'm so excited for Jeff to see me in my dress.

Pin It, Buy It, Love It
So, I just lied a little bit. This post is in no way wedding related. Hooray! We all know I love me some Pinterest. Many weeks ago I pinned this cute-as-can-be necklace.
Last week, while looking for potential wedding earrings (ha, I worked in a wedding related topic) on Etsy, I added the necklace to my cart and decided to go ahead and purchase. It arrived last Thursday so I had to wear it the very next day.
It is as cute as it looks and really whimsical. Pinterest rules!

I'll apologize in advance for this but for the next several weeks most of my posts will be wedding related. It's been a busy couple of weeks for me and Jeff. We made an attempt to get our wedding license but neither of us had the proper paperwork so we had to make some phone calls and should have everything necessary this week. The last weekend in February I worked on finishing the Adirondack set,
sanding and painting the cornhole boxes that Jeff found,
and a test run on making tissue paper flowers (or pom-poms). My friend Jennifer came by to help with the painting and flower making.
The cornhole boxes have since been tossed. Jeff felt they wouldn't even last until the wedding. The boards were a little rickety and rotted but they did look 100% better. Oh, well. His dad will be making new ones to go along with the new bean bags that Frances has made. This past weekend Jeff's mom Virginia stayed to work on my wedding dress.

I made more flowers and some cork labels.

The corks will be used to identify food items for the reception. Those are my business cards. I'll be changing my name so I'll need new ones and I have about 400 of them still in the box. So, this was an entirely free project. The big day is getting closer and closer and we're all excited and more than a little stressed. I've called in favors for lots of things and I can't tell you how many times I've requested that my mom do this or that. There is still so much to do but we are steadily chipping away at our task list.

It's All Mine!
I got a special treat in the mail this week. Well, a treat to myself, it wasn't a surprise or anything.
I have the first few movies on DVD already but this 8-disc set takes up as much space as two movies on my shelf. I'll probably donate the other ones. I didn't get the blu-ray set because I don't have a blu-ray dvd player, a TV that is blu-ray compatible, or the necessary hookup stuff. Now I just need one rainy weekend to watch them all in a row (after the wedding of course, too much left to finish to sit around and watch HP).
