Found Another One

I took Friday off to enjoy the sunshine and get some things done. Jeff and I took our kayaks to the river and went for a little ride. The water was really low that day so we plopped our kayaks on a bank and looked through the rocks. It was early in the day but it was already pretty warm. I could feel the temperature rising on the back of my neck. Next time I'll be sure to wear a bandanna. We kind of split up, Jeff turning around from his spot and me going forward. Just then I looked down and saw a straight line. I picked it up out of the water and wasn't really sure if it was a point. It was larger than the last one I found and not as detailed. Jeff assured me it was one.
Check out my sexy footwear. Just a few minutes after I found mine Jeff found one in the water as well.
Can you see it?
His is obviously way cooler than mine but I'm proud of both of us. After scouring the water a bit more we got back in our kayaks and decided to go down stream to check out another potential hot spot. By this point my neck was boiling and I was certain I had an official red neck. The scenery was very nice and it was a beautiful day, hot, but beautiful. We didn't find anything in the second spot but did see a gar fish and a few turtles in the water. We also saw an osprey dive for food. On the way back to head to the ramp I fully realized my lack of skill and experience in using a kayak. Next to the ramp, the river was divided by a rock island and slow moving, or so I thought, rapids on either side of the island. I nearly ripped my arms off trying to paddle through the water. We made it back but next time I'll just wait for instructions rather than assume that I have the muscle to make it.
