Disappointments

Life is full of them. I had three this weekend but nothing tragic. I'll start with the biggest and end with the smallest. First, my Euro trip with my mom in January has had an itinerary change. Paris is out.
It would have cost an arm and a leg just to get to Paris, not including lodging, food, sightseeing, etc. I would say that I'll go some other day but I just cannot believe how much it costs and on principle I want to say I'll never go. Instead we are going to York. Learn about it here. I think it will be very fun and I've never been so it will be eye-opening as well. Not to mention it is a more frugal option.

Second, I ran in a 5K race this weekend and my time was terrible! It was worse than last year's and all I really wanted was to improve my time. I'm disappointed in myself but as least I was able to run the whole thing and finish in under 30 minutes. Several of the kids at the school where I work were at the race. I left them in the dust with my slow and steady pace. They seemed to think that sprinting for 10 seconds and walking for several minutes was a good method.

Third, I saw New Moon on Sunday. Very boring, slow, bad, and I fell asleep a couple times. What positive thing can I say about it? I enjoyed the 10 minute sequence in Volterra, Italy. Michael Sheen is one of my favorite actors. He should have been on screen more. And the wolves were pretty impressive. Lautner, however, was not impressive in appearance or acting ability.

Even if someone had told me it was terrible I still would have wanted to see it. And I'll still want to see the adaptations of the next two books. So, I guess Stephenie Meyer has worked her magic on me after all.

PARIS :(

I saw New Moon twice in one day and didn't get bored. I really did like it. I thought it followed the book well and I thought Bella did a better job.
