Pick-a-Pillow

I still have the same hideous pillows that came with my couch.
I have been to several fabric stores over the course of at least 4 months searching for plaid fabric and any other fabric that catches my eye. Nothing fits what I want. I may consider buying an extra large plaid shirt and ripping it apart for the fabric. Except I haven't found a extra large plaid shirt that I like either. I've also looked online and found nothing in the likable fabric department. I have found a few items on Etsy that I like but they are pre-sewn and some are really expensive. I wanted to reuse the pillow forms because they are 20 x 20 and that size is pretty expensive. At the moment I'm partial to  plaid, argyle, tweed, velvet, houndstooth, and kilim.
This kilim pillow is my favorite that I've seen so far on Etsy. I love the navy and orange together. It costs $169.95.
I also love this kilim and it costs significantly less than the first at $52 but that's still steep for me.
I like the scale of this plaid, tweed pillow; large rather than tiny plaid squares. The orange is pretty but I don't love the teal blue. This pillow is $42. I have my navy velvet fabric all ready to go to cover a craigslist chair but I've got to hold off on upholstery for a while. We have so many other expenses right now that don't involve anything decorative. I will keep my eye open when near a fabric store or passing through the men's section at a store with plaid shirts.
