Noteworthy

Myrtle Beach week 2014 has come and gone. It was fun and now I'm back at work missing the sounds of the ocean. School starts back today for the prep students and it's high energy on the campus. It's an exciting time for everyone and I'm pleased that we'll have more traffic in the library. Anywho, here are some noteworthy things:

  • I just pre-ordered a copy of Sarah Style by Sarah Richardson
I'm beyond excited about this book. I love Sarah Richardson and maybe one day she'll have her shows available for purchase on DVD. I'm sure I'll need tons of decorating advice with the new house so this couldn't have come at a better time. It won't arrive until November which doesn't matter since every room in the house needs to be decorated at some point.
  • The fam saw Guardians of the Galaxy during beach week.
I thought it was very fun and if Jeff wanted to see it I wouldn't mind going again.
  • I read this delightful book during beach week.
Barbara let me borrow her library copy and it was the perfect book to read on my vacation.
  • Pandora is my BFF.
There's no TV or cable at the new house (duh) and I'm not the kind of person who can do menial tasks without some noise to distract me from the hours passing by. I like to have the TV on the Sirius stations at home when I'm doing house work. I could play the radio on Jeff's ancient CD player but I don't really care for the local radio stations. Pandora is free and when I listen I don't hate every second of work at the new house or think about how I'd rather be home reading or cuddling with my dogs.
  • I adore this fabric.
It's called Folkland and I bought several yards from Joann Fabrics online last week at a huge discount. It was still very expensive but I just love it. I'm going to use it to reupholster the love seat I got on Craigslist. I'll have all three pieces ready to reupholster soon but I'm terrified of the cost. I'm glad I was able to get all three furniture pieces for just $60.

Painting is in full swing at the new house. Maybe by next weekend we'll have everything painted! The painted rooms looks so much better. The house is still a mess with dust and tools laying everywhere but at least some of the walls are more pleasing to the eye. I'll try to post some updated pictures soon.
