I finally have all the pictures taken during the trip; mine, mom's and Susan's. This post is about the departure day. I left for mom's around 11:30am. I parked my car and my dad drove us to the airport. Our flight was for 5:30pm but they suggest arriving 3 to 4 hours before departure for international flights. Mom and I did the whole 'remove your shoes and place your belongings in the bin' process. We all decided to travel with carry-on luggage only (at my insistence). My luggage was 14 x 9 x 18 inches and I had a handy travel purse (no, it wasn't a dang Buxton). Neither of us got searched so we headed to the duty free, food court, and currency exchange area. We had lunch and headed to our terminal to wait for Susan. The pictures from those magical hours are below.

We boarded about 45 minutes before the flight was scheduled to leave. It seemed like we were constantly being served drinks, snacks and meals. None of which were spectacular. I didn't sleep much on the packed flight, and someone kept spraying perfume in the claustrophobic cabin. That's all I have to report for day 1 because we didn't actually land until day 2. Stay tuned.
