New Favorite Things

I have discovered, or fully recognized, two new favorite things. One is Ricky Gervais. The second is reading memoirs. I watched The Invention of Lying last night. It was written, directed and produced by Gervais himself (and a partner). I watched Ghost Town about a year ago at the suggestion of two friends. Loved it. The Invention of Lying was truly funny and I will be recommending it to anyone who will listen.

Last year I read the hilarious I'm Down: A Memoir by Mishna Wolff and just yesterday I started The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance: A Memoir by Elna Baker. I'm only on page 70 but I've laughed out loud at least 70 times.
If you haven't already picked up on the message: I'm recommending both Ricky Gervais movies and both memoirs. I hope I can come across several more of each to enjoy in the future.

I saw the book before and of course being Mormon was curious. I'll read it. And we did watch "Invention" this past weekend. The first half of the movie made me so uncomfortable. All that direct honesty! But I think it was funny and ended well.
