Out with the Old, In with the New

We've been living with our new furniture for about 3 days now. Jeff and I moved the old couch and recliner out and the new furniture in. The old stuff is sitting in the driveway. Or at least it was when I left for work this morning. I seriously hurt my left bicep during the furniture swap but we got it done. The couch looks great and the recliner looks great but I'm not sure they go together. So here's the old set up.

Mom says the rug and coffee table are probably throwing me off but she and everyone else who's seen it assures me that they do go together. I do love how much smaller each piece is from it's predecessor. The accent pillows are a disaster.

I will absolutely be making new covers. I do want to select a plaid fabric--I'm mad about plaid right now. Something like this would make me very happy.

Remy has been a little sad. He's tried to jump and perch in his usual spot but the cushion isn't wide enough for him to sit comfortably. I don't really want him to sit up there anyway because it will make the cushion sag.

He'll get adjusted but overall I think he and Sandi like the new stuff. The layout of the room may shift somewhat since the behemoth desk/armoire is not being used in the room. Anyway, come by some time and see our new stuff. Once you sit in the recliner you'll never want to get up!
