Student Nook

Don't panic, I did not buy another portable device. I did however finish my new school work area last night. Jeff was finally able to maneuver the shelving situation and that's all I needed for the go ahead on the decor. Before the shelving was put in place we took care of this situation.
I'm not sure what all of it is because there were some scratches way above my head. Nonetheless they are gone. With my shelves, desk, chair, and lamp in place it was time work on artwork placement.

Here's the final result.
I'm sure you're thinking I'm crazy for having SO much stuff but I wanted to surround myself with literature that has inspired me over the years. It mostly consists of Harry Potter and Hunger Games artwork. Harry Potter is what kind of started my whole desire to be a Media Specialist so it was only fitting that there be plenty of HP art. Here's the breakdown. This cluster has Harry with some adorable owls, lots of Katniss with her bow and arrows (still planning on getting that long bow), and the cover of the first book in the Last Apprentice series.
Last Apprentice is a series I've really enjoyed the last couple years and I eat them up as soon as they are published. I've been able to recommend them to at least a dozen students since I started reading them. This group is my classic literature section.
The top image is a drawing of all six Jane Austen novels. Below are kind of erie book covers for Wuthering Heights, The Scarlet Letter, and Jane Eyre. I read Wuthering Heights in my study abroad lit class in college, I'm a big fan of Hawthorne's work, and Jane Eyre is one of my favorite books of all time. These four are 2 HP drawings, a map of Panem, and the bottom one is the funniest of all the pictures.
It says, "The V.C. Andrews 'Read the Good-Trash' Movement." V.C. Andrews is indeed good trash and I devoured her novels (especially the Dollanganger and Cutler series'). Before discovering her books, and Jean M. Auel's Earth's Children series, I would rather do anything but read. This last one is the cutest of them all (lots of glare, sorry).
It's a series of seven drawings, each depicting a different scene in all seven HP novels. Here are my shelves.
I'm a clipboard user, always have been. My clock came from Target and I think it's precious. The little jars were a four-pack from IKEA and they hold push-pins, paperclips and little squeeze clips (can't remember their actual name). My top shelf holds my class books and binders and my test preparation books (I'm thinking about getting those over with this summer since I'm only taking one class) with my globe bookend.
I also have a little white moose (because every house should). The little brown boxes came from IKEA and they'll just be a dumping zone for various items. I made my bulletin board with leftover cork board and fabric.
I have little Jane Austen quotes tacked on: "Angry people are not always wise", "Give a girl an education and introduce her properly into the world, and ten to one but she has the means of settling well, without further expense to anybody", "Nothing ever fatigues me, but doing what I do not want to do", "I hate to hear you talk about women as if they were fine ladies instead of rational creatures. None of us want to be calm waters all our lives." Class begins Monday and I won't be able to access anything until then. There will be no class meetings (like with my MLIS) so this is a new system for me. I'm nervous, anxious, and excited. I really hope this is a good experience for me and that this is the LAST time I go back to school (other than just standard continuing education stuff). FYI, I blogged this post in my new nook.

I love that clock and seriously might get one for R's office (red and black Georgia theme, but that would look amazing ontop of the red dresser I plan on painting) I MUST HAVE IT.
