Virgo Facts

I don't know if you can really have facts about an astrological sign. Many people consider zodiac sign stuff to be complete hokum. I find it all very interesting and once again, I have some recaps from an MSN.com blurb; Like a Virgo.
Celeb Icon
"Like fellow famous Virgo Sophia Loren, you're thoughtful, intellectual and diligent. You believe in hard work, and have high standards for yourself. Loren is proof that typically reserved Virgos can still be private (and a little bit mysterious), without being distant." I agree with most of this statement except the mysterious part. I don't know any mysterious Virgos. Loren is a celeb icon and there are many celeb Virgos. Don't really have a favorite so Loren will do for now.
Decor
"Virgo's colors are beiges, tans, browns and greens, which are very soothing to the sign’s anxious temperament. Surround yourself with earthy hues by repainting your living room walls a light beige or tan with the occasional dark brown accent." Okay, I do like the look of this room, especially the large bookcase in the background but the furniture is a little too mid-century modern for my taste. At one time I totally decorated with dark browns, tans, and greens but that's not really my style anymore. I still gravitate toward those colors for decor but I look for things a little more cheery these days. I like the "anxious temperament" comment because that is very true, my anxiety levels are usually high.
Creative Outlets
"As the universe's planners, Virgos love a good project. Start a garden: Your earthy nature will thrive in the dirt, and your methodical disposition will enjoy the whole process from beginning to end. Plus, gardening is also another great way to get you to relax a bit." I am definitely a planner, no doubt about that. I get that from my mother who is not a Virgo so I'm not sure what that means. I also love a good project but that does not include gardening. Well, I do love gardening and I love beautiful flowers and plants but I have a severely brown thumb. After a few weeks everything dies and then I just feel sad. Completing a process from beginning to end is important to me and in most cases I want to do it by myself. Few of my projects relax me though--they usually spike that anxiety and you all know about my frustrations with my sewing machine.
Vacationing
"Virgo vacationers like a trip that's planned, organized and has a bigger purpose. Look into cooking retreats on a vineyard in the south of France or Italy, so you can get away while still feeling like you're getting something done." Um...this one is a yes and a no. I do like a planned, organized vacation but that bigger purpose stuff is a bunch of malarkey. My purpose is always to have fun and get away from work for a few days--that doesn't really equate to a "bigger purpose".
Fitness
"Virgos have very overactive minds, which can cause a lot of angst. Combat the ailing effects of stress with a weekly restorative yoga class. Don't become frustrated if you find it difficult to quiet your mind—just keep bringing your awareness back to your breathing and be patient." I took a Pilates class on Saturday mornings for a while and I loved it. The instructor moved away and I haven't taken up a similar class since. I guess I should, it couldn't hurt to look into Pilates or Yoga DVDs. Oh wait, I already have about 3 of those. I'm more of a cardio person anyway and I've been doing body pump regularly since December.
BFF
"True Virgos are somewhat reserved and don't allow themselves to enter new relationships easily, making the few friends they do have extremely valuable. Independent and fairly unemotional, you probably don't do well with overly needy girlfriends who take your matter-of-factness personally. You would most likely find a good balance with a fellow Virgo, like Blake Lively." This one is true for me. I can count on one hand the number of true, close friends I have. I don't jump into friendships and any time I've done so has ended badly. I do consider myself independent, I try very hard to not be emotional, and I can be a little blunt when I speak. They had a picture of Blake Lively for this caption but she's not my bff--Frances and Kelly are; going close to 20 years now. By the way, all 3 of us are Virgos.
Mr. Right
"A hard-to-get Virgo won't be swept off her feet by silly romance, but once she's fallen in love, she's utterly devoted. You need a man who will be patient in his pursuit and take things slowly. In particular, Capricorns (like Bradley Cooper) are known for their determined nature, as well as their cautious approach to life—perfect for a Virgo with a guarded heart." I've seen this exact statement before (most likely on MSN) and it is 100% true. Romance makes me a little uncomfortable and my mother has said that I am loyal to a fault. They had a picture of Bradley Cooper for this caption. He's nice I guess but he's no Jeff. And yes, Jeff is a Capricorn.

Virgos are clearly wonderful, fascinating, and worth knowing. It's interesting to consider that you are the way you are not because of genetics or the way or place you were raised, but because of what day of the month you were born. There's also this funny bit of business (also on MSN). Check it out--most of it is true as well.

20 year friendship with fellow Virgos that deserves praise and a post all by itself! Now I'm going to go ready about Pisces!

Loved the video. This is definitely food for thought as you are a Virgo and I am a Capricorn, but we do have a lot of the same traits.
